Experiences of Nurses in Remote Nursing Consultations for Individuals with Coagulopathies
Main Article Content
Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Understanding the experiences of nurses in remote nursing consultations can enhance the structure and processes of this type of care. Thus, our objective was to explore the lived experiences of the nurses.
METHODS: We conducted a qualitative, phenomenological, exploratory, and descriptive study. Three nurses who conduct these consultations participated. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and subjected to thematic content analysis.
RESULTS: Nurses face challenges and strengthen bonds in remote consultations, which are central to the phenomenon. The comprehensive structure is organized around seven central themes: perspectives and evaluations; effects and sustainability; emotional responses and professional validation; barriers and challenges in personalizing and continuing care; understanding of patients and efficacy in care; collaboration and sharing as facilitators; professional and personal impact, challenges, and satisfaction.
CONCLUSION: This study reveals that Remote Nursing Consultation in the Blood Service and Transfusion Medicine is crucial for the continuity of care. It highlights the need for robust infrastructure and ongoing training to overcome challenges such as limited knowledge about patients and the lack of adequate structures, thus promoting a more effective and patient-centered care practice.
